The July Course resides alongside the National Stud on the approach to the town and is home to all Newmarket’s summer race meetings. From mid-June to the end of August it provides the perfect setting for a fantastic day’s racing thanks to its unique rustic charm.
Open air bars, the sun dappling through the trees and the thatched roofed buildings make up the character of this distinctive and much loved course.
Children under 18 are admitted FREE to all Newmarket race meetings except the Newmarket Nights and on the 8 Summer Saturdays on the July Course there are a host of other great reasons to bring the whole family along.
Every Saturday you’ll find a Punch & Judy Show and two giant inflatables in the Garden Enclosure (also accessible to Premier and Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure racegoers). There’s also the permanent children’s playground with all their classic favourites. All are free!
Please note that children aged under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times; young persons aged 16 and 17 will be admitted without an adult.

Summer at Newmarket means the magical romance of the July Course, an oasis of sun dappled lawns, magnificent beech trees, flourishing flowers, thatched roofs, old-fashioned grandstands and sparkling new facilities behind the stands following the £10m enlargement and redevelopment of this area which was opened in 2007. The romance of the surroundings creates a garden party atmosphere unlike any other racecourse.
